ljmattox > We went to Spokane for the BMWMOA national rally, but we couldn't pass up Cat Tales, a refuge for big cats (lions, tigers, etc.). They're doing great work, making the best lives possible for cast-off big cats whose idiotic previous owners could no longer handle them. Yes, they are cute cubs...and grow into many-hundred-pound carnivores that need a lot of room and 50+lbs of meat *every day*.

ljmattox > Former Vegas- and circus performers end here too...like this white tiger. One tiger was here since he'd led a "rebellion" of the circus tigers he was with and killed a trainer. He was handled *very* carefully.

ljmattox > The keeper had us kneel, then he called him over for a feeding. You could tell he'd been part of this drill before. No sudden moves, please. And don't let your thumb get in the way of the tiger and the chicken neck...

ljmattox > This guy was HUGE...very impressive. Stacy tenderly feeding him some chicken necks.
