ljmattox > By overnighting in Steamboat, we got a wonderful, tourist-scenic ride the next morning, through Rabbit Ears pass and Byers Canyon. Great views, and we'd have been riding this in the dark with my K's crummy headlight (prior to its HID upgrade). Um, no. Win-win all around by staying the night in Steamboat Springs.
ljmattox > Nice shot of Byers Canyon scenery...an unexpected treat.
ljmattox > The Mighty K at the top of Berthoud Pass. We'd had a ball riding up here, and took a break to look around and take some photos.
ljmattox > Some very fun switchbacks to/from Berthoud Pass. Note to self: very easy to have snow-traction sand kick onto the roadway during the summer months, causing motorcycle tires to slip, causing unexpected adrenalin rushes from the rider...
ljmattox > So stopping in Colby, KS for some gas, we looked over and saw a Corolla full of cages. It was driven by a gal from University of Missouri-Columbia who was conveying a car-full of exotic animals and birds from points west. Irresistable to Stacy, who got to hold a baby pygmy lemur. In the middle of nowhere.
ljmattox > Now tell me he ain't cute!
